We have seen this happening in some windows 2008 and windows 7 machine. Sometimes by default asp.net user does not have adequate permission to run some OfficeClip scripts resulting error on the screen. To provide access please do the following:

  1. Right Click on the folder c:\program files\officeclip\8 folder (if you installed OfficeClip in the default location) and select Properties

  2. Select the Security Tab

  3. Add Network Service user (in windows XP, the user name is ASP.Net) and give this user full access

  4. Make sure that this access propagates to all the folders at the lower level
